Job Responsibilities:

1. Confer with the Section Chief to conduct analyses of research projects and interpret test results.
2. Prepare test solutions, compounds, and reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct tests.
3. Analyze finished products in the lab to determine chemical and physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, and reactions using existing techniques and equipment; recommend outsourcing if required.
4. Develop, improve and customize emulsion properties and polymerization methods.
5. Source potential suppliers for new chemicals required by the lab and liaise with relevant departments for further action.
6. Advise on test procedures for analyzing material components and physical properties.
7. Prepare technical papers and reports for discussion.
8. Collect and organize journals related to emulsion polymerization and coatings for easy reference by relevant personnel.
9. Manage registration, lending, and organization of the technical book cupboard.
10. Maintain 5S standards and improve overall laboratory housekeeping.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong laboratory skills, including preparation of reagents, chemical analysis, and data interpretation.
• Familiarity with polymerization methods and emulsion technology is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English, Malay, and Mandarin.
